Summer Getaway Workshop: How to do the hair-do of the day

June 28, 2013

Ladies and Gents, are you eager to learn how to dress your tresses in true Regency fashion? Attendees at the Jane Austen Summer Getaway will join workshop instructor Kandie Carle for a hands-on session in Regency Hairstyles. Renowned as ‘The Victorian Lady,’ Kandie brings her meticulous knowledge of historical fashion to this Regency hairstyle workshop.

Instructor Kandie Carle sports a Regency-appropriate hairstyle. Learn to “do” your hair in Regency style at Jane Austen Summer Getaway!

To participate in the hands-on portion of the workshop, please bring hairpins—not just bobby pins, but hairpins (see the photo below)—faux hair pieces such as rats and/or braids to augment your own locks, ribbons or any other hair ornamentation, a curling iron if you have one, and light hairspray of your choice. You’ll learn techniques for manipulating your hair (or making up for a modern hairstyle) to achieve a Regency-era coiffure!
