Dance the night away! (Ball-only tickets available)

April 21, 2013

Your Jane Austen Summer Getaway planning committee is hard at work organizing lots of Regency fun and frolicking to go along with the educational workshops that will teach you about Jane Austen’s era. One of those events is the Saturday evening Regency ball, where you can dance the night away to the same cotillions, quadrilles, and country dances that Jane Austen enjoyed. If your dancing experience is nil, never fear! The dances will be taught at a workshop earlier in the day, and our brilliant historical dance instructor, Susan de Guardiola, will also call the figures during the ball. With Susan’s expert instruction, even dancers with limited experience will find participating in this oh-so-Regency activity easy and fun!

Regency dance fever!

Regency dance fever!

And we have a special invitation for those who may want to dance at the ball, but can’t devote an entire weekend to learning about Jane Austen’s era. If you’ve got Regency dance fever, you can join us for the ball on Saturday, July 27, at the Inn at Middletown, and forgo the workshops, seminars, and lectures. Ball-only tickets will go on sale June 1. The cost is $30 per ticket and includes dessert and valet parking; a cash bar will also be available to keep you refreshed for the dancing.
